Submissions, Research, Guides & Summaries

LOARC was formed in 2008 when a group of worker health and safety activists got together with staff from the Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers (OHCOW) and university researchers to examine the effectiveness of workers’ rights to protect themselves from hazards at work. We identified an important connection between workers’ experience, technical expertise and research that supported effective worker participation in health and safety at work. Over the years we have held workshops and teach ins; put together Submissions to important Ontario government reviews; conducted Research into ways to make workers more effective in making changes to improve their health and safety at work. We have used that research to develop Guides and Summaries.
